A letter to My frienemy

A genetic twist, a shape so sharp and bent.

You rage silently in my body and cause the pain.

You quietly rip my body to pieces, giving me invisible scars. You take away dreams, hope. But I still have the strength and resilience to fight you and believe you/me, I will have the last word.

All I have ever known is pain from you. I am your slave, with all the chains so tight, I know, I can never escape from you. I can’t go anywhere without you or without your permission.

In the agony of severe and relentless crises, the psychological torture, I know that one day, this Cold War between me and you will come to an end. Through all this, I, Solome will always stand tall, above you because I can define you but you can’t define me.

With the new research, New medicine, the wonderful health professionals around the world, and healthcare systems in play, hope blooms like a sunflower in the gloom and the future looks bright with no sickle cell disorder in people’s bodies. If you think you’re a clever monster, the scientists are coming for you.

You have taken so many away without giving them the chance to tell their own stories but I refuse to go down without a fight, and I will tell my story until my voice is heard. And guess what? We are going down together.

You have decided to destroy my vital organs, I carry the visible and invisible scars everywhere I go, but I will never give up.

Yours faithfully
